We're trying to figure out a system that will logically work to have characters with disabilities (or illnesses) in the background that's important to the characterization and really want to keep them, but in a world where you can pretty much grow back a whole body and you can genetically modify your body to have pink skin, why would anyone be disabled?
Radiation that causes wounds to not heal well and scar are one thing, but a character that has trouble walking or a character that's deaf, how do you all think that would be handled? Especially on a spaceship, where the crew needs to at least start out as healthy to manage in space?
This includes what is survivable in this world and how that will affect game mechanics.
