Looked like her hopes of being around normal people were going to be dashed on the rocks of bullshitery. "And why would anyone actually work to make things better, especially since you said only one engineer is up and working! Ugh."

And she felt that shudder. It took a fair amount of acting that it didn't bother her, she almost convinced herself it didn't.
